INTRODUCTION OF VIDYA VIKAS PROJECT
There are a number of people socially and economically backward in North Karnataka. Along with this a large number of children have been deprived from Education and Culture. So many people are far away from main stream of society. There is still a situation where children are forced to earn their livelihood, when at their age they should be going to school for studying, writing and playing. Children are illiterate due to poverty and parents are unable to think about future of their children. Some people have continued occupations of their castes. Some children though admitted in schools are not regular to their classes. Seva Bharati Trust is identifying such children and arranging tuitions and imparting culture through Vidya Vikas Project to enable them to complete their school education, to become responsible citizens of this country.
Objectives
- To educate the children in the slum areas.
- To give Importance for cleanliness and hygiene.
- To give moral and spiritual education to children.
- Reducing the number of children who leave school in the middle.
- To identify their hidden talent and skill in the children and give proper guidance in developing them.
-
We are planning to open 500 new centers in different places of the state.
Our Work
- We have conducted survey at Hubballi-Darawad, Kalaburagi, Koppala, Ballari, Yadagiri, Guledgudda, and surrounding villages and also Taluka headquarters its surrounding villages to identify centers for development. Out of these, at present Vidya Vikas Project is running 210 centers in 137 places from 2018.
- We are selecting educated women as teachers in the respective backward areas. We are providing them training to enable them to run these teaching centers orderly.
-
The educated and trained teachers are conducting survey in their respective areas and preparing the list of children who are joining the centers and also persuade them to attend the evening classes regularly and punctually.
